Grade 10 started!

Finally thanks to some help from the local S.D.M we have begun the process of enrolling a group of our children in to grade 10. They will be doing this via correspondence with the National Institute Of Open Schooling and will have support from our staff and teachers to help them through it. Our mission school only teaches till grade 8 (though the new school we are building will eventually be till grade 12).

As the children are orphans they do not have any identification papers, and thus it was very difficult to get them enrolled with NIOS. Thanks to some help from the Sub-District Magistrate we now have the identification papers needed to get our children enrolled. Education is such an important thing and we hope that they will all continue on through into year 12 and further!

12/08/2009 Update!
All the applications have been sent off along with schooling fees, affidavits, identification letters... etc. We hope to receive confirmation of the children's enrolments within the next few weeks. All of the children made their course selections and so the next step will be purchasing the text books, study material and stationary for them.

26/08/2009 Update!
All of our children have been accepted in to this years Grade 10 class. This is great news. Studies and preparation has already begun with daily classes -the kids have not even received their course books/information they just want to get ahead.
