Past Visitors

In the past we have had many visitors to our orphanage, from single ladies to married men and their children. We love having people and have been blessed by many many people over the last few years. We wanted to set up this page both to honor them and their service for our children and also to encourage others to come and visit. Unfortunately we dont have photo's of everyone who has been here to visit, these are just a few of over 200 people who have come out and spent time with us in just the last 5 years! If you would like information about visiting us please read our orphanages Volunteers FAQ which can be found in the menu above.

Volunteer Workers "I spent 4 months at Strong Farm, living in the 'big boys' hostel, teaching in the school, working on the farm, painting walls, laughing, being laughed at, thinking, sleeping on the roof, enjoying the jungle, travelling afar and generally forming relationships that are like family. I miss the place every day and will continue to until the day I return." - Saul

"My stay on The Farm was a truly amazing experience. For me, it was a lesson in love, a lesson in humility, and a lesson in generosity. I went as one who was going to give and yet I was the one who received. I was loved without conditions, despite the fact that I had done nothing to earn or deserve their affection. I went thinking I would be the one who could teach and add to the lives of these children, after all I was the one with university training and a background rich in experiences; however, all my ‘knowledge’ was for nothing. Could I make a friendship band or spin the washing machine? Could I make chai and eat chillies whole? Time and a listening ear were the only things of value that I could bring. They, who have nothing in comparison to our wealth in the west, were the ones to offer me, the chicken feet of the only meat they had seen in weeks. What is my measly contribution in comparison to that? I am a teacher now, but I believe what I was taught on The Farm is far greater than much I can impart to my students.

The children on the farm have been given a chance to have a childhood, which otherwise would be taken from them. Join their journey and become a student of the things of worth."

Volunteer Workers "Wilma and I have been very blessed to have now made two trips to to the GSAM. I suppose the first trip was more out of curiosity as we had heard so much good about what was going on there. However, before that time was up we knew that we would be back and even a third time is not out of the question. We are quite certain about who is calling us back and that is the children and young people. They have given us more than we could ever leave. We are simply blessed to be able to do our little bit and have come away with the most lasting of memories and hopeful of adding to them one day again. The staff to are a fabulously dedicated, warm and wonderful group of people, gifted by God for their extra special responsibilities. Blessings on all of you. -Henry Dubbeld, December 2007 & 2008, Australia." - Henry

"We arrived here planning to stay for 1 month and couldn't leave - we're now staying for the full length of our visa (6 months)! The work here is very rewarding and it also has the benefit of being great fun! It has helped us get a better perspective on what's important in life and that everyone has the ability to make a difference." - Brad & Miriam Volunteer Workers
