Animal Rescue
Working with local authorities to safely rescue, relocate, and protect wildlife in the Banbasa community.
Living Close To Nature
The GSAM is located near forests, fields, rivers, and villages, which means wildlife and people often live very close to one another. Snakes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants, and other animals sometimes enter homes, farms, markets, ponds, or campus areas, creating risk for both local residents and the animals themselves.
When these situations happen, our team works alongside the Forest Department to help secure the area, calm crowds, and safely capture and relocate wildlife whenever possible. The goal is simple: protect people, reduce fear, and give the animal a chance to return safely to its natural habitat.
Animal rescue is not the largest part of GSAM’s work, but it is a practical way we serve the wider community and care for the environment around us.
In recent years GSAM has helped relocate dozens of venomous snakes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and other animals in cooperation with the relevant government authorities.

Snakes
Venomous snakes are one of the most common rescue calls, especially near homes, fields, and community spaces.

Crocodiles
Crocodiles sometimes move into ponds, waterways, or populated areas during seasonal flooding and need safe relocation.

Monitor Lizards
Monitor lizards are often feared, but careful rescue and relocation helps protect both people and wildlife.

Other Wildlife
Living near forest and river systems means unexpected wildlife encounters are part of life in Banbasa.
Protecting People And Wildlife
Every rescue is handled with safety as the priority. Crowds are kept back, children observe only from safe distances, and animals are handled carefully before being released into suitable natural habitats.
These rescues also create opportunities for education. Children and community members learn to identify dangerous animals, avoid risky behaviour, report sightings quickly, and understand that wildlife is not “out to hurt us.” Most animals are simply trying to survive in a shared landscape.
By responding carefully and compassionately, GSAM helps reduce panic, prevent unnecessary killing of wildlife, and promote safer coexistence between people and the natural world.
Support Practical Community Work
Animal rescue is one small but meaningful part of GSAM’s wider commitment to the Banbasa community. Living near forests, farms, rivers, and villages means that people and wildlife often cross paths, sometimes in ways that create fear or danger. When that happens, our team is able to help with practical support, local knowledge, and coordination with the proper authorities.
Your support helps us maintain the vehicles, tools, equipment, staff capacity, and response systems that make this work possible. It allows our team to respond quickly, help keep people safe, and give animals the best chance of being relocated carefully rather than harmed out of panic.
By supporting GSAM, you are not only helping children and families. You are also helping us care for the wider community and the natural environment we share.
